Porto Golf Club athlete Afonso Girão and Verdegolf’s Azorean Ivete Rodrigues were the gold winners of the men’s and women’s events at the 4th Cashback World Circuit Tournament, which took place in the middle of July in three rounds at the Boavista Golf Resort & Spa, near Lagos, Algarve. With this victory, the second of the year in qualifying tournaments for the Cashback World Circuit Ranking, Afonso Girão reinforced the lead of the table now totaling 710, against 480 of the second place: Pedro Silva (Miramar). The Porto athlete shot 210 (70-71-69), 3 under par (71), to win by four over Francisco Matos Coelho (70-7371), 15, of the Vilamoura GC. Jose Maria Cunha, of Miramar, leader after the first round, was third with 218 (68-76-74). In Ladies, 14 year old Ivete Rodrigues achieved the most important victory of her young career. She led at the end of the first round with 79 strokes, in the second she scored 78, falling to 3rd place, behind the leading double comprised of Rita Costa Marques and Beatriz Themudo and on the last day concluded with another 78 for a total of 235 (+22), to win with the minimum difference over Sofia Barroso Sá (80-80-76) and Beatriz Themudo (83-73-80), both with 236.
Oatleta do Oporto Golf Club, Afonso Girão, e a jovem açoriana do Verdegolf, Ivete Rodrigues, foram os vencedores em Ouro das provas masculina e feminina do 4.º Torneio do Circuito Cashback World, que decorreu a meio de julho em três voltas no Boavista Golf Resort & Spa, próximo de Lagos, no Algarve. Com esta vitória, a segunda do ano em provas pontuáveis para o Ranking do Circuito Cashback World, Afonso Girão reforçou a liderança da tabela somando agora para um total de 710, contra os 480 do segundo classificado: Pedro Silva (Miramar). O atleta do Oporto totalizou 210 pancadas (70-71-69), 3 abaixo do Par (71), para ganhar com quatro de vantagem sobre Francisco Matos Coelho (70-73-71), de 15 anos, do CG Vilamoura. José Maria Cunha, de Miramar, líder após a primeira volta, foi terceiro com 218 (68-76-74). Em senhoras, Ivete Rodrigues, de apenas 14 anos, obteve a vitória mais importante da sua jovem carreira. Liderava ao fim da primeira volta, com 79 pancadas, na segunda marcou 78 caindo para o 3.º lugar, atrás da dupla da frente composta por Rita Costa Marques e Beatriz Themudo e no último dia concluiu com novo 78 para, com um total de 235 (+22), ganhar com a diferença mínima em relação a Sofia Barroso Sá (80-80-76) e Beatriz Themudo (83-73-80), ambas com 236.
