Bacalhau Tournament

The Salgados (Albufeira) course began the season of gastronomic tournaments, which takes place every year during the summer holidays, with the Riberalves Codfish (Bacalhau) Tournament that brought together 80 players from 31 clubs from North to South in a shotgun, in hot weather. The absolute winner was Rui Coelho with 39 points, followed by Maria José Pinto, António Machado, Valdemar de Carvalho and Dina Ferreira, all also with 39. Special prizes went to Antonio Cêncio (closest to the hole), Margarida Sampaio and Pedro Silvestre (longest drive). The top three winners and the three winners of the special awards received a premium codfish. The convivial lunch featured cod, prepared in two ways - Gomes de Sá and with potato to punch. At the awards ceremony, the birthdays of the day, Rui Coelho and Graça Carter, were surprised by a celebratory cake. O percurso dos Salgados (Albufeira) iniciou a temporada dos torneios gastronómicos, todos os anos no período das férias de verão, com o Torneio do Bacalhau Riberalves que reuniu 80 jogadores de 31 clubes de norte a sul, num shotgun com tempo quente. O vencedor absoluto foi Rui Coelho com 39 pontos, seguido de Maria José Pinto, António Machado, Valdemar de Carvalho e Dina Ferreira, todos também com 39. Os prémios especiais foram para António Cêncio (bola mais perto), Margarida Sampaio e Pedro Silvestre (pancada mais longa). Os três primeiros classificados e os três vencedores dos prémios especiais receberam como prémio bacalhaus. E o almoço de convívio foi também o bacalhau, confecionado de duas formas – Gomes de Sá e com batata a murro. Na cerimónia final os aniversariantes do dia, Rui Coelho e Graça Carter, foram surpreendidos com o bolo comemorativo.
