ABREU GOLF CIRCUIT – TRÓIA STAGE

A25 km long peninsula that embraces the Sado River estuary and has a huge beach of pure sand throughout its Atlantic extension. This is Tróia. A peninsula full of nooks and charms that the Abreu Golf Circuit came to discover during this stage.

Considered one of the best golf courses in Europe, Troia Golf is completely inserted in the landscape. 18 holes along the beach, surrounded by pine trees and with magnificent sea views.

Designed by North American golf architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, the course was elected in 2011 as one of the best golf courses in the world and most recently Golf World magazine ranked Tróia Golf the 17th best golf course in Continental Europe.

This was a stage that put the best of the players to the test, a misty morning where the 84 golfers missed the call and took over the course.

It is said that civil rain does not water military, the same goes for the golfers who participated. A rainy late morning did not stop them from giving their best to qualify for the grand finale of the circuit.

In the end four more qualified and the satisfaction of victory combined with a desire to see particpation in the sport grow throughout the nation.

Tróia, península de 25 km de comprimento que abraça o estuário do rio Sado e guarda uma imensa praia de areia pura em toda a sua extensão atlântica. Uma península cheia de recantos e encantos que o Circuito Golfe Abreu veio descobrir nesta etapa. Considerado um dos melhores campos de golfe da Europa, o Troia Golfe está completamente inserido na paisagem. 18 buracos ao longo da praia, rodeados de pinheiros e com magníficas vistas para o mar. Desenhado pelo arquitecto de golfe norte-americano Robert Trent Jones Senior, o campo foi eleito em 2011 como um dos melhores campos de golfe do mundo e mais recentemente a revista Golf World considerou o Tróia Golf o 17º melhor campo de golfe da Europa Continental. Esta foi uma etapa que colocou à prova o melhor dos jogadores, uma manhã nublada onde os 84 golfistas não faltaram à chamada e tomaram conta do campo. Dizem que chuva civil não molha militar, o mesmo se pode dizer dos golfistas que participaram. Um fim de manhã chuvoso não os impediu de dar o seu melhor para se qualificaram para a grande final do circuito. No final mais quatro apurados e a satisfação de vitória aliada a uma vontade de ver crescer a prática da modalidade a nível nacional.
