The 5th Tour­na­ment of the Cash­back World Cir­cuit, held in Novem­ber at the Quinta do Peru Golf & Coun­try Club course in Azeitão, was the last event of 2019 to count to­wards the Na­tional Rank­ing.

The tour­na­ment was won by Pe­dro Len­cart (Mi­ra­mar) in Men and Leonor Medeiros (Quinta do Peru) in Ladies. Daniel Ro­drigues (Mi­ra­mar) was sec­ond in the 5th Tour­na­ment, as had hap­pened in the 3rd and 4th Tour­na­ments, in all cases beaten by Pe­dro Len­cart, but had al­ready se­cured by a wide mar­gin and by the sec­ond year, the first place in the Na­tional Rank­ing - BPI. Only the tri­umph at the Por­tuguese Am­a­teur In­ter­na­tional earned him 1500 points. 3rd place in the Madrid Open Cham­pi­onship gave him the sec­ond best prize - 795 points. Among the tour­na­ments that he scored in the rank­ing, he also won the 86th Audi Ab­so­lute Na­tional Cham­pi­onship, the 2nd Cash­back World Tour­na­ment and the Na­tional Club Cham­pi­onship - Solverde, with four sec­ond places on the Cash­back World Cir­cuit.

“Dani” ends the year with 5043 points in the BPI Na­tional Rank­ing, with sec­ond and third place fin­ish­ers, re­spec­tively, his club mate Pe­dro Clare Neves, with 2598, and Vasco Alves, of Porto Golf Club, with 2385,5. In the Na­tional BPI Rank­ing for Women, Sofia Sá (Quinta do Peru), just 15 years old, suc­ceeds Leonor Bessa (Mi­ra­mar) as # 1. Even los­ing pos­ses­sion of the Por­tuguese Golf Fed­er­a­tion Cup, which be­longed to her in 2017 and 2018, the Quinta do Peru ath­lete was na­tional run­ner-up and won two tour­na­ments (1st and 2nd) on the Cash­back World Cir­cuit. Sofia Sá ended the year with 3251.5 points in the 10 scor­ing tour­na­ments in which she par­tic­i­pated, also win­ning the ab­so­lute and U16 na­tional cham­pi­onships. Leonor Medeiros was in 2nd place, with 3162.5 points, and Rita Costa Mar­ques (Mi­ra­mar), 3rd, with 2495. Leonor Medeiros was, for the sec­ond year in a row, No. 1 on the Cash­back World Cir­cuit Women’s Gold Rank­ing, with six wins and 2025 points. Rita Costa Mar­ques was 2nd with 1580 and Sofia Sá 3rd with 1420. In the Male Gold Rank­ing, Al­berto Costa Mar­ques, just 14 years old, came out the win­ner. The young ath­lete from Mi­ra­mar who re­cently won the na­tional U14 cham­pi­onships scored best in his win in the R. S. Yeatman Cup and sec­ond place in the 102nd Lis­bon Cup, earn­ing four top-10’s.
