DHM GOLF TOURNAMENT

Discovery Hotel Management sponsored the second edition of the DHM Golf Tournament, which began in the Barlavento and ended in the Sotavento Algarve, involving over thirty tour operators from nine countries who visited various locations in the Algarve region.

DHM currently manages two dozen 4 and 5 star hotels on the mainland and in the Azores and three golf courses (Campo Real, Montado and Quinta do Vale). In the early months of next year, more hotels and golf courses are expected to join the group. The DHM golf trophy began on the Morgado course in fine weather, and all participants were housed in the fabulous panoramic 5-star Monchique Resort & Spa, one of the newest members of the group and located on the mountain range five kilometers from Monchique. The second stage took place on the Monte Rei course, with accommodation at the Vila Monte Farm House, a 5-star unit in Moncarapacho, and the third and final round at Quinta do Vale, a course designed by Severiano Ballesteros, with the final ceremony at Praia Verde Boutique. Hotel.

The Spanish Fatima Carriles was the winner in Gross. In Net the French Thierry Holer won, followed by the English Thomas Packham and the Spanish Ricardo Naveda. Tour operators from Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Belgium and Switzerland also participated. In the three rounds, nine special prizes were also registered, with the Englishwoman Jo Packham standing out. She received the prize for the longest drive on all three courses and was the only player to repeat.

The final awards ceremony was attended by Francisco Moser, DHM President. In the final raffle several vouchers were awarded to hotels and golf courses throughout the country.

A DHM tem atualmente a gestão de duas dezenas de unidades hoteleiras de 4 e 5 estrelas no continente e nos Açores e de três campos de golfe (Campo Real, Montado e Quinta do Vale). Nos primeiros meses do próximo ano está prevista a adesão de mais hotéis e campos de golfe ao grupo. O troféu DHM em golfe teve início no percurso do Morgado, com bom tempo, e todos os participantes ficaram alojados no Monchique Resort & Spa, hotel de 5 estrelas com 195 suítes e panorâmicas fabulosas, uma das mais recentes adesões ao grupo e que fica na serra a cinco quilómetros de Monchique.

A segunda etapa decorreu no percurso do Monte Rei, com alojamento no Vila Monte Farm House, unidade de 5 estrelas em Moncarapacho, e a terceira e última volta na Quinta do Vale, campo desenhado por Severiano Ballesteros, com a cerimónia final no Praia Verde Boutique Hotel. A espanhola Fátima Carriles foi a vencedora em gross. Em net ganhou o francês Thierry Holer, seguido do inglês Thomas Packham e do espanhol Ricardo Naveda. Participaram ainda operadores turísticos da Finlândia, Holanda, Alemanha, Portugal, Bélgica e Suíça.

Nas três voltas foram ainda registados nove prémios especiais, destacando-se a inglesa Jo Packham que recebeu sempre o prémio para a pancada mais longa nos três campos e foi a única que repetiu.

A cerimónia final de distribuição dos prémios teve a presença de Francisco Moser, presidente da DHM. Na tômbola final foram distribuídos vários vouchers para hotéis e campos de golfe do grupo, em todo o País.
