The Palheiro Golf Pres­i­dent’s Tro­phy Tour­na­ment took place in Novem­ber at the 18hole club. Duarte Ro­drigues, Pres­i­dent of this Madeiran club, teed off in the Sta­ble­ford Net In­di­vid­ual tour­na­ment.

This event was at­tended by club mem­bers, ath­letes from the Palheiro Golf Train­ing Academy and golfers of for­eign na­tion­al­ity to spend their hol­i­days in the re­gion.

At the 13th hole there was a mag­nif­i­cent Spe­cial­ized En­duro Ex­pert bike for those lucky enough to make a hole in one. Un­for­tu­nately none of the play­ers took home the prize. Af­ter the tour­na­ment there was a very special, un­usual lunch served at the Club­house Restau­rant, fol­lowed by the prize giv­ing cer­e­mony. The win­ner was Jonathan Fletcher with 26 Gross points. In cat­e­gories, Élia Handa won 1 and 2; Michael Blandy won 3 and Hugo Curto won 4 and 5. Among the youngest, James As­cen­sion won cat­e­gories 2 and 3; Afonso Lopes was the win­ner of 4, 5 and 6, while the best in­ter­na­tional player was Fiona Steven­son. Special awards were given to Nidip Handa, Madeleine Wag­ner and Marcelo Gas­par (Clos­est), and Long­est Drives went to Neil Steven­son, Élia Handa and Maria Câ­mara.

OTorneio Troféu do Pres­i­dente, do Palheiro Golfe, re­al­i­zou-se em novem­bro no 18 bu­ra­cos do clube. Duarte Ro­drigues, pres­i­dente deste clube madeirense, deu a saída em shot gun, num torneio dis­putado Sta­ble­ford Net In­di­vid­ual. Aliaram-se a este evento só­cios do Clube, atle­tas da Academia de For­mação Palheiro Golfe e golfis­tas de na­cional­i­dade es­trangeira a pas­sar férias na Região.

No bu­raco 13 havia como prémio uma mag­nifica bi­ci­cleta Spe­cial­ized En­duro Ex­pert para quem tivesse a sorte de fazer um hole in one. In­fe­liz­mente nen­hum dos jo­gadores levou para casa este prémio.

Após o torneio houve um al­moço muito es­pe­cial, difer­ente do ha­bit­ual, servido no Res­tau­rante Club­house, seguindo-se a cer­imó­nia de en­trega de prémios.

O vence­dor foi Jonathan Fletcher com 26 pon­tos Gross. Em cat­e­go­rias, Élia Handa venceu a 1 e a 2; Michael Blandy a 3 e Hugo Curto a 4 e 5. En­tre os mais novos, Ti­ago As­cen­são venceu as cat­e­go­rias 2 e 3; Afonso Lopes foi o vence­dor da 4,5 e 6, en­quanto o mel­hor jo­gador In­ter­na­cional foi Fiona Steven­son.

Os prémios es­pe­ci­ais foram en­tregues a Nidip Handa, Madeleine Wag­ner e Marcelo Gas­par (Clos­est), e o Long­est Drive foi para Neil Steven­son, Élia Handa e Maria Câ­mara..
