PALHEIRO GOLF – PRESIDENT CUP

The Palheiro Golf President’s Trophy Tournament took place in November at the 18hole club. Duarte Rodrigues, President of this Madeiran club, teed off in the Stableford Net Individual tournament.

This event was attended by club members, athletes from the Palheiro Golf Training Academy and golfers of foreign nationality to spend their holidays in the region.

At the 13th hole there was a magnificent Specialized Enduro Expert bike for those lucky enough to make a hole in one. Unfortunately none of the players took home the prize. After the tournament there was a very special, unusual lunch served at the Clubhouse Restaurant, followed by the prize giving ceremony. The winner was Jonathan Fletcher with 26 Gross points. In categories, Élia Handa won 1 and 2; Michael Blandy won 3 and Hugo Curto won 4 and 5. Among the youngest, James Ascension won categories 2 and 3; Afonso Lopes was the winner of 4, 5 and 6, while the best international player was Fiona Stevenson. Special awards were given to Nidip Handa, Madeleine Wagner and Marcelo Gaspar (Closest), and Longest Drives went to Neil Stevenson, Élia Handa and Maria Câmara.

OTorneio Troféu do Presidente, do Palheiro Golfe, realizou-se em novembro no 18 buracos do clube. Duarte Rodrigues, presidente deste clube madeirense, deu a saída em shot gun, num torneio disputado Stableford Net Individual. Aliaram-se a este evento sócios do Clube, atletas da Academia de Formação Palheiro Golfe e golfistas de nacionalidade estrangeira a passar férias na Região.

No buraco 13 havia como prémio uma magnifica bicicleta Specialized Enduro Expert para quem tivesse a sorte de fazer um hole in one. Infelizmente nenhum dos jogadores levou para casa este prémio.

Após o torneio houve um almoço muito especial, diferente do habitual, servido no Restaurante Clubhouse, seguindo-se a cerimónia de entrega de prémios.

O vencedor foi Jonathan Fletcher com 26 pontos Gross. Em categorias, Élia Handa venceu a 1 e a 2; Michael Blandy a 3 e Hugo Curto a 4 e 5. Entre os mais novos, Tiago Ascensão venceu as categorias 2 e 3; Afonso Lopes foi o vencedor da 4,5 e 6, enquanto o melhor jogador Internacional foi Fiona Stevenson.

Os prémios especiais foram entregues a Nidip Handa, Madeleine Wagner e Marcelo Gaspar (Closest), e o Longest Drive foi para Neil Stevenson, Élia Handa e Maria Câmara..
