The event gets bigger and better every year and we’re all very excited to see what this year’s winning time and what the final number of participants will be.”

Almesnad added: “The Aspire Torch Staircase Run offers something for everyone, whether participating in the event itself or just coming to cheer on a friend member or family who’s taken up the 1,300-stair challenge.

“Aspire Zone Foundation hosts hundreds of sporting events for the local communities in Qatar each year but the Torch Staircase Run is definitely one of our most unique and one of the most fun. Good luck to all the participants.”

This year AZF will allocate a dedicated area for all family members to enjoy the 2018 edition of the event. The ATSR 2018 Fun Zone will comprise of food and beverage outlets, taekwondo and kickboxing shows, fitness demonstrations, and toy horse rides for children.

Previous editions of the run generated unprecedented success on par with international tower-running competitions, including Empire State Building Run-Up in New York, USA, and Berlin Sky Tower in Germany. Over the past editions, ATSR attracted more than 900 participants from both local and expat communities alongside other tower runners from all over the world.
