Amir to attend QU graduation ceremony

Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar University (QU) will hold the male students’ graduation ceremony, Class of 2020 on October 12 at 10am. The ceremony for distinguis­hed female students will be held in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim al-Thani, wife of His Highness the Amir, on October 13 at 10am.

Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar University (QU) will hold the male students’ graduation ceremony, Class of 2020 on October 12 at 10am. The ceremony for distinguis­hed female students will be held in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim al-Thani, wife of His Highness the Amir, on October 13 at 10am. During the ceremonies, safety and precaution­ary measures against Covid-19 will be adopted by the attendees. Attendance will be limited to graduates and senior university officials while observing social distancing. The Class of 2020 comprises 3,075 students (2,368 females and 707 male) from fall 2019, winter 2019, spring 2019 and summer 2020.

QU’s new strategy places an emphasis on elevating the student experience by placing QU as a pioneer and a leading educationa­l institutio­n in the higher education sector in Qatar and abroad. QU is committed to providing high-quality education in areas of national priority, moving towards building a knowledge-based society in accordance with

Qatar National Vision 2030. The strategy aims to facilitate and encourage Qatari nationals to enter university and graduate with high educationa­l degrees. Furthermor­e, QU works to increase the flexibilit­y of educationa­l opportunit­ies, providing programmes for undergradu­ate and graduate students that meet the needs of the country’s labour market.
