Qatar, Italy review ways to enhance military relations

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met in Rome yesterday with Italian Minister of Defence Lorenzo Guerini. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations in the military and defence fields, and ways to enhance and develop them. The meeting was attended by Commander of the Qatar Amiri Naval Forces Staff Major General (Navy) Abdullah Hassan al-Sulaiti, and Qatar’s military attache in Italy Brigadier General (Navy) Hilal Ali al-Mohannadi, Qatar’s ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Maliki al-Juhani, and a number of senior officers in Qatar Armed Forces.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah visited the shipyard of the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in Muggiano (La Spezia) as part of his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the corvette (Al Zubarah) and offshore patrol vessel (Msheireb). During the visit, HE al-Attiyah made an inspection tour inside the Al Zubarah corvette, as well as a field tour of the Italian company’s factory. HE the Commander of the Qatar Amiri Naval Forces Major General Abdullah bin Hassan al-Sulaiti, Qatar’s military attache in Italy Brigadier General Hilal Ali al-Mohannadi, Qatar’s ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jehani and a number of senior officers in the Qatar Armed Forces attended the visit and the inauguration ceremony.
