3 arrested for murder of BJP leader in UP

Three men were arrested yesterday for the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Gupta in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district. The victim was at his shop on Friday night when three suspects came on motorcycles and fired at him. His family members rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead. After the death of Gupta, an angry mob blocked a key road and was pacified only after the body was sent for postmortem and a case was registered. A large number of policemen reached the scene and dispersed the angry crowd. Political rivalry is reported to be the reason behind the murder of the BJP leader. Gupta was a BJP leader Nagla beach town in Firozabad district and owned a grocery shop.
