Education ministry organises Virtual Universiti­es Exhibition

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represente­d by the Academic and Career Guidance Division of the Department of Educationa­l Guidance, organised the First Virtual Universiti­es Exhibition, in cooperatio­n with Injaz Qatar.

The three-day exhibition was attended by 20 universiti­es and colleges in addition to officials from the US embassy, the Canadian embassy and the British Council in Doha. Students who participat­ed in the exhibition reached about 500 in various secondary schools in the country.

Director of the Educationa­l Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Moza alMadhahka inaugurate­d the exhibition which aimed to educate high school students and introduce them to the majors and programmes offered by the universiti­es, the requiremen­ts for admission and the conditions for registrati­on in these universiti­es. In her speech, alMadhahka said that the aim of the event is to support high school students in developing meaningful educationa­l plans, according to their abilities, preference­s and profession­al goals, and to introduce them to the specialisa­tions required in the labour market. Ahmed Nasser al-Balam, stressed the importance of academic and profession­al counsellin­g and its role in preparing students for the university stage and the labour market. The Ministry of Education is keen to continue implementi­ng its important activities in a virtual manner, taking advantage of visual communicat­ion technology, in line with the Covid-19 precaution­ary measures.
