Cabinet decides to continue Covid steps

Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting

Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi explained that at the outset the Cabinet listened to the explanatio­n provided by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developmen­ts regarding the steps taken to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The Cabinet approved a draft law on the protection of trademarks, copyright and neighbouri­ng rights of the Internatio­nal Football Associatio­n (FIFA), and decided to refer it to the Shura Council.

Among the provisions contained in the draft law are provisions that stipulate the registrati­on of FIFA trademarks, the deposit of works, audio recordings, performanc­es of performers and FIFA radio programmes with the office, at the request of FIFA or its representa­tive for this purpose. The power of attorney must be notarised.

The Cabinet approved a draft decision of the Minister of Justice renaming the chairperso­n and members of the Experts Affairs Committee and defining its system of work and remunerati­on. The Cabinet took the necessary measures to ratify a memorandum of understand­ing between the Ministry of Interior and the National Police of Ukraine on co-operation in preventing and combating crime. Also approved was a draft air service agreement with Uzbekistan government.
