Shafallah organises lecture on improving education for children
The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities of Qatar Foundation for Social Work organised an awareness lecture on parenting methods and their impact on children in general and on the disabled category in particular, which was held via video conference.
The lecture, which was held in co-operation with Hetteen Independent School, witnessed the active participation of parents, teachers and students, through which they exchanged analyses and ideas that could improve the educational process for the children. The lecture is held as part of the programme, “We co-operate for them,” in co-operation with schools and educational institutions in the country with the aim of educating students, teachers and parents about the concept of disability and strategies for optimal interaction with people with disabilities, and to introduce their rights and duties. It also raised awareness on integrating people with disabilities into the society and during the period of the coronavirus pandemic, 50 online lectures were presented.
The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities is keen to provide community and rehabilitation programmes and activities that work to enhance the social integration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in addition to providing support and assistance to families of persons with disabilities and workers in the field, raising the level of public awareness on disability issues and the rights of persons with disabilities, to achieve a balanced society based on the principle of justice and equal opportunities, free from discrimination.
