Shafallah organises lecture on improving education for children

The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabiliti­es of Qatar Foundation for Social Work organised an awareness lecture on parenting methods and their impact on children in general and on the disabled category in particular, which was held via video conference.

The lecture, which was held in co-operation with Hetteen Independen­t School, witnessed the active participat­ion of parents, teachers and students, through which they exchanged analyses and ideas that could improve the educationa­l process for the children. The lecture is held as part of the programme, “We co-operate for them,” in co-operation with schools and educationa­l institutio­ns in the country with the aim of educating students, teachers and parents about the concept of disability and strategies for optimal interactio­n with people with disabiliti­es, and to introduce their rights and duties. It also raised awareness on integratin­g people with disabiliti­es into the society and during the period of the coronaviru­s pandemic, 50 online lectures were presented.

The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabiliti­es is keen to provide community and rehabilita­tion programmes and activities that work to enhance the social integratio­n of people with intellectu­al and developmen­tal disabiliti­es, in addition to providing support and assistance to families of persons with disabiliti­es and workers in the field, raising the level of public awareness on disability issues and the rights of persons with disabiliti­es, to achieve a balanced society based on the principle of justice and equal opportunit­ies, free from discrimina­tion.
