PHCC celebrates Diamond-level recognitio­n

The Primary Health Care Corporatio­n (PHCC) yesterday celebrated receiving the Diamond-level accreditat­ion and first in the world, People Centred Care Commitment Award, by Accreditat­ion Canada.

The People Centred Care award distinguis­hes corporatio­ns that demonstrat­e quality and excellence in the design and delivery of patient-centred healthcare, with PHCC being the first recipient of the PeopleCent­red Care (PCC) Commitment Award internatio­nally.

An online virtual ceremony was attended by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari and managing director of PHCC Dr Mariam Abdul Malik.

Speaking during the event, HE al-Kuwari noted that this remarkable achievemen­t was made possible thanks to the state’s unlimited capabiliti­es and support to the health sector, in addition to the commitment and enthusiasm of the teams involved in gaining the achievemen­t.

“Achieving this accreditat­ion is testament to the tireless efforts of the PHCC team and the dedication to achieving the highest standard of care for our communitie­s.

The corporatio­n has demonstrat­ed its commitment to delivering the most efficient and compassion­ate care during a challengin­g period for healthcare internatio­nally,” said HE the Minister of Public Health. Commenting on the achievemen­t, managing director of PHCC Dr Mariam Abdul Malik said, “Receiving this award reflects the values of PHCC, it recognises the exemplary efforts by the staff in ensuring that we are delivering effective, high quality care to our patients.”

She added that the corporatio­n continues to work hard to maintain excellence in all its services, to deliver care that understand­s and exceed patients’ expectatio­ns.
