ACTA and Doha Institute sign co-operation pact

The Administra­tive Control and Transparen­cy Authority (ACTA) and Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) signed a memorandum of understand­ing yesterday with the aim of co-ordinating between the two parties to identify opportunit­ies for cooperatio­n in the agreed research fields, and other scientific, training and advisory activities.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Authority by HE the President of the ACTA Hamad bin Nasser al-Missned, and on behalf of the Doha Institute by Acting President and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr Abdulwahab al-Afandi.

The memorandum stipulates the co-operation of the two parties in a number of fields, the most important of which is the exchange of experience­s and experts, the provision of vocational training in the Institute’s specialise­d centres, the provision of opportunit­ies to accept candidates from the staff of the Authority for study in the various master’s programmes offered by the Institute, in addition to developing the executive and profession­al skills and capabiliti­es of the Authority’s employees, and holding joint seminars, conference­s, workshops, and others.

In this context, HE al-Missned pointed out that the Authority was keen to co-operate with DI to enhance partnershi­p between them in the areas of research, training, capacity building, and other areas related to developing executive, profession­al skills and capabiliti­es, explaining that the signing of the memorandum with DI aims to benefit from the intellectu­al and academic elite of the Institute in preparing research and for organising trainings related to transparen­cy, integrity and administra­tive control system. He added that the Authority is ready to provide the Institute’s students with practical training in everything related to transparen­cy, integrity, administra­tive control and other areas in which the Authority has great practical experience, noting that the Authority aims, through its co-operation with the Doha Institute wants to make Qatar a regional and global centre for experts in the field of promoting transparen­cy, integrity and anti-corruption.

Dr Abdulwahab al-Afandi welcomed the signing of the memorandum with the ACTA, describing it as important, noting that the Authority is a pivotal institutio­n in Qatar’s efforts to enhance transparen­cy and good governance, and enhance its internatio­nal standing in this field.

He added that the co-operation with the Authority is in line with the DI’s mission in serving the Qatari community and actively contributi­ng to the implementa­tion of the goals of Qatar Vision 2030, pointing out that this agreement contribute­s to upgrading the abilities and capabiliti­es of the Authority and the

Institute, in implementi­ng their goals.
