Qatar Charity holds expo to support its education campaign
Qatar Charity (QC), in cooperation with University Foundation College, Hyatt Plaza and a number of plastic artists, set up a pavilion to display paintings in support of the ‘Educate me! Let the hope continue!’ drive.
The campaign, which was launched by QC to support educational projects within and outside Qatar in conjunction with the start of the new academic year, is expected to benefit 8,000 students from low-income families in Qatar and orphaned students in 11 countries around the world.
Many Qatari plastic artists and students skilled in drawing participated in the exhibition, donating their paintings to Qatar Charity in support of the campaign, according to a press statement.
Qatar Charity’s Programmes and Community Development department director Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi thanked University Foundation College and Hyatt Plaza, plastic artists, talented people and the community for supporting the ‘Educate me! Let the hope continue!’ drive.
She said QC always launches seasonal campaigns to support its project and brings creative ideas to engage talented people in humanitarian work.
University Foundation College’s public relations manager Nadia Mohamed Abdullah expressed the college’s happiness with supporting the drive, noting that the college is keen to support education as part of its societal responsibilities.
She indicated that the college displayed the many artworks of its students, donating their proceeds to support the campaign, affirming the readiness of the college and its students to support humanitarian work.
Established in 2017, University Foundation College in Doha is a private college accredited by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and it signed a co-operation agreement with Qatar Charity.
Mohamed al-Hawamdeh, head of Marketing at Hyatt Plaza Mall, expressed delight with the continuous partnership with QC in support of humanitarian and charitable work, noting that “this reflects our commitment to our responsibility towards community, and enhances cooperation between the various organisations in Qatar to serve Qatar National Vision 2030”. He praised Qatar Charity’s efforts in providing services to its beneficiaries at home and abroad.
Saeeda al-Badr, a Qatari plastic artist, said she participated to support the drive, which seeks to support the education of orphans and students from lowincome families in and outside Qatar.
She also thanked QC for its efforts and for taking advantage of the plastic art to support its campaigns.
Al-Badr indicated that her participation in charitable campaigns is not the first and will not be the last, noting that contributing to the success of charitable campaigns is the duty of all to serve humanity.
Plastic artist Hind Mohamed thanked Qatar Charity for organising the exhibition, expressing delight at participating in the ‘Educate me! Let the hope continue!’ drive.
She said: “I participated with a painting that expresses the importance of supporting education and upholding the values of solidarity, because education is a hope for a bright future, and a fundamental pillar of the sustainable development.”
It is worth noting that the exhibition included three sections. The external section displays the objectives of the campaign, target groups, and ways to donate, while the inner section contains plastic paintings displayed to the public.
The third section is the atelier, through which the plastic artist Hind Muhammad displayed her paintings directly to the public.
