Amir, Erdogan vow to take bilateral ties to new heights

Qatar, Turkey pledge to strengthen relations in economic, investment, energy and defence fields

On the occasion of the visit of brother President Erdogan, we note with satisfacti­on the depth of the relations between the Qatari and

Turkish people, and we recall the geographic­al neighbourh­ood and the common cultural heritage between the Arabs and Turkey, which establishe­d a constructi­ve cooperatio­n in the developmen­t and stability of our region, and an integrated contributi­on to the progress of all humanity.

HIS Highness The Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday vowed to take the bilateral relations to greater heights and more integrated levels.

During a meeting held at the Pearl Palace on Thursday, HH The Amir and the Turkish president discussed the strategic relations between the two countries and the ways to support and enhance them in various fields, especially in economic, investment, commercial, energy and defence cooperatio­n to achieve common goals.

HH The Amir and Erdogan discussed the latest developmen­ts in Palestine, Libya, Syria and Yemen, in addition to exchanging views on internatio­nal issues of common concern.

Later, HH The Amir hosted a dinner banquet in honour of Turkish president and the delegation accompanyi­ng him at the Pearl Palace.

The Turkish president left Doha later in the evening.
