Amiri Guard concludes 2020 training season with graduation ceremony

THE Amiri Guard School on Wednesday celebrated the graduation of six foundation­al and advanced courses.

The six courses include security and protecting personalit­ies, security and advanced protection, rapid interventi­on, counter-terrorism, explosives and driving a tank.

The courses came at the conclusion of the 2020 training season, in the attendance of Commander of the Amiri Guard Major-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Inspector- General, the assistants of the Commander of the Amiri Guard and a number of department and group leaders, officers from the Qatar Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior.

Commenting on the occasion, Commander of the Amiri Guard School Colonel Ali

Arahma Al Muraikhi stressed that the school’s strategy is to constantly develop modern training methods with the goal of raising the capabiliti­es of members of the Amiri Guard to the highest level possible.

He praised the high level of profession­alism showcased by members of the Amiri Guard during the closing ceremony, adding that this reflects the skills they developed during the courses.

He said the school is keen on enhancing the outcomes of security and protecting personalit­ies courses by assigning rapid interventi­on and counter-terrorism forces and training them on how to respond quickly under various circumstan­ces and conditions. The course participan­ts then carried out a number of drills that showcased what they learnt.

The ceremony also included simulation­s of military tactics related to counter-terrorism and rescuing hostages.

At the end ceremony, Commander of the Amiri Guard honoured the graduates and urged them to give their best to serve the country.
