Qatar Charity concludes first phase of ‘Tamkeen’ program

QATAR Charity (QC) concluded the first phase of ‘Tamkeen,’ an integrated training programme offered remotely through its social media accounts. It was launched in October to enhance the economic, social and psychologi­cal skills of individual­s under the auspices of Etlaqq Business Management and Bedaya Centre.

The first phase of the programme included six different types of training workshops to enhance and develop the necessary practical skills that contribute to the transforma­tion of individual ideas into successful commercial projects that will add economic value to society.

Some 45 people attended the workshops. The final projects included eight participat­ions, of which four were qualified, and will be sponsored by Etlaqq Business Management and the Bedaya Centre.

The programme targets individual­s with ideas and small projects and those in need of training to enter the market, in addition to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and those willing to have a project that ensures a steady source of income for a more stable life.

assim Mohamed alEmadi, Director of the Local Developmen­t Department at Qatar Charity, thanked the sponsors and participan­ts at the closing ceremony of the first phase of the programme.

“The ‘Tamkeen’ programme aims to enable people to have the opportunit­ies ensuring that they led a stable and happy life at all levels, in support of Qatar National Vision 2030 and Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals of the United Nations, in addition to achieving community partnershi­p with several state institutio­ns,” said al- Emadi.

He also announced the continuati­on of the program in the next phases according to the plan, noting that the second phase would involve job- seekers and people with special needs in cooperatio­n with the authoritie­s and community partners concerned, with a view to providing these people with a sustainabl­e source of income.

CEO and co-founder of Etlaqq Business Management, thanked Qatar Charity for launching a program that managed to prepare readyto- start projects in Qatar by providing the basics needed by entreprene­urs in the labor market.

Al- Darwish congratula­ted the owners of the qualified projects, noting that the program provides the necessary requiremen­ts for the project to enter the market of Qatar.

Ahmed Al- Sayegh, Director of Entreprene­urship at the Bedaya Center, said the ‘Tamkeen’ programme helps individual­s launch their business projects and trained 45 participan­ts to develop their business ideas.

The participan­ts learned the basics of entreprene­urship, working on the commercial model, marketing and financial matters, thus they became fully aware of how to launch their own business, Al- Sayegh noted.

The programme included 6 training workshops, which are ‘ procedures for establishi­ng a project, business model, visual identity, how to prepare a marketing plan for your project, fix the price of your product or service, and accounting’.
