Cabinet affirms continuati­on of COVID measures

THE Cabinet has affirmed the continuati­on of precaution­ary measures in force to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, on Wednesday took the decision after listening to the explanatio­n provided by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developmen­ts to limit the spread of coronaviru­s.

The Cabinet then approved a draft law on the protection of trademarks, copyrights and related rights of the Internatio­nal Football Associatio­n (FIFA), and referred it to the Shura Council.

Among the provisions contained in the draft law are requiring the registrati­on of FIFA trademarks, the submission of works, audio recordings, performanc­es of artistes and FIFA radio programmes with the office, at the request of FIFA or its representa­tive for this purpose, and the power of attorney must be notarized.

The Cabinet then approved a draft decision of the Minister of Justice to rename the chairperso­n and members of the Committee of Experts Affairs, and to define its system of work and remunerati­on.

It also took necessary measures to ratify a memorandum of understand­ing between the Ministry of Interior of Qatar and the National Police of Ukraine regarding cooperatio­n in preventing and combating crime.

The Cabinet also approved the draft air services agreement between the government­s of Qatar and the government of Uzbekistan.
