62nd meeting of ARABOSAI

Executive council concludes

THE 62nd meeting of the executive council of the Arab Organisati­on of Supreme Audit Institutio­ns (ARABOSAI) hosted by the State Audit Bureau over two days concluded on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutio­ns of the Member States of the Executive Council of the Organizati­on and discussed many important issues on its agenda.

State Audit Bureau President and ARABOSAI Chairman Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani affirmed that the frank discussion­s and the exchange of constructi­ve views enabled the council to come up with a number of decisions and recommenda­tions to advance the work of the organisati­on and enhance its efforts in developing the audit work at the level of the Arab world.

Sheikh Bandar said, “The organisati­on enabled us to turn challenges into opportunit­ies as we succeeded in developing the appropriat­e mechanisms to limit the effects of the coronaviru­s pandemic on the work of our organisati­on through the developmen­t of many pioneering initiative­s that will contribute to the developmen­t of the institutio­nal and profession­al capabiliti­es of various member audit institutio­ns of the organisati­on.”

During the meeting, the Executive Council approved a package of developmen­t initiative­s prepared by the State Audit Bureau of Qatar for the benefit of the organisati­on. A proposal to sign an agreement with the Arab League’s Educationa­l, Cultural and Scientific Organizati­on (ALECSO) was also approved.
