AACE International Qatar rolls out new training plans and initiatives
AACE International Qatar, a member of the global network of Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, aims to initiate a partnership with third-party training centres to provide courses to assist in the exam preparation for Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Earned Value Professional (EVP) and Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).
Following the recently held Board of Directors meeting, the association’s new set of committee members and officers have also announced plans to hold master classes with the assistance of reputable instructors and speakers globally in addition to hosting technical webinars on more robust topics.
This year’s committee is to be led by Saad Hegazy as the president, Anil Ipekci as past president, and other officers Ryan Ace Tan (president-elect), Mohamed Abbas Elmallahy (vice president), Vanessa P Gallego (secretary), Venkatesh J (treasurer), Amro Ahmed (director), Balaji Lokhanta (director), Manoj Unnikrishnan (director), Oleksii Liubymyi (director) and Tai Arowojolu-Alagwe (director).
The committee was formed in June 2020. Addressing the impact of COVID-19 to the traditional format of its meetings and learning styles, the committee committed to deliver the vision and objectives of AACE International and work together to provide the best form of continued professional learnings to all interested professionals.
Since its formation, the committee has organised eight webinars free of charge on a variety of interesting topics in construction matters with an overwhelming 1,170 professional participants joining eight events. In addition to professional training events, the Qatar Section also continued its support of the community. It has also joined forces with other professional bodies in Qatar such as the Filipino Planning Engineers’ Association (FPEA) for an Annual Tree Planting event held early this year.
“As we all return to the workplace and restrictions are reduced, we are pleased to share with you the first publication issued by this year’s committee members and officers. The committee aims to connect more with our members and the wider Qatar community to increase awareness of the benefits in becoming an AACE International member and be recognised worldwide as one of the pioneering bodies in certifying professionals in the wide field of Cost Engineering,” said a statement from the committee.
