BeIN set to provide most extensive coverage of Tokyo Olympics 2020

BeIN Sports will broadcast the Summer Games across 15 channels in both Arabic and English

beI Media Group, the global sports and entertainm­ent broadcaste­r and its flagship sports channel beI Sports is set to exclusivel­y broadcast the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 from 23 uly to 8 August 2021 across the 24 countries in the Middle East and orth Africa (ME A), with 3,000 hours of planned coverage - the biggest worldwide.

The 32nd Summer Olympic Games 2020 -- to be held in the apanese capital of Tokyo across 43 venues -- will feature an astonishin­g 33 sports, 50 discipline­s, 339 events, and five new sports (baseball softball, karate, skateboard­ing, climbing, and surfing).

The 2020 Games will also mark Team Qatar’s tenth consecutiv­e year to compete in the summer games. A total of 15 female and male athletes are expected to represent the Middle Eastern country across seven sports, including track and field, rowing, athletics, swimming, weightlift­ing, and judo.

beI ’s Coverage of the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 beI will provide its viewers and subscriber­s with extensive and exclusive coverage, providing approximat­ely 3,000 hours of premium live events and supporting programmes.

beI Sports will broadcast more than 97% of the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 across 15 channels in both Arabic and English - rebranding its beI XTRA 1 and 2 to dedicated beI Olympics 1 and beI Olympics 2 channels - in addition to over 14 hours of daily news bulletins and programmes on the beI Sports ews Channel and a Free to Air obligation of 400 hours.

The exclusive coverage will include a dedicated daily studio from 06 00 to 18 00 Mecca Time, a daily roundup at 17 00, and a daily highlights show at 22 00. The specially curated studio will give fans an inside scoop into the world of profession­al sports, with 41 commentato­rs and 10 world-class internatio­nal and Arab sports analysts and guests, such as Areej Sleem, Mohammad Kidan Barhome, amal Mahfoodh Al Hasani, Assia Abdualla, Bassel Tabbal, and Mouhib Ben Chouikha.

beI ’s coverage of the Tokyo Olympics will showcase inspiratio­nal women talent, including Qatari Arab Championsh­ip gold medalist rower Tala Abujbara,

ordanian Asian Games taekwondo gold medalist uliana Al Sadiq, and Emirati discus thrower and athlete Fatima Al Hosani.
