Qatar Charity organises exhibition to support its education campaign
QATAR Charity (QC), in collaboration with University Foundation College, Hayat Plaza, and a number of plastic artists, established a pavilion to display paintings in support of the ‘Educate me ‘Let the hope continue ’ drive.
The campaign, launched in conjunction with the start of the new academic year by Qatar Charity to support educational projects both within and outside the State of Qatar, is expected to benefit some 8,000 students from low-income families in Qatar as well as orphaned students in 11 countries around the world.
Many Qatari plastic artists and students skilled in drawing took part in the exhibition, donating their works to Qatar Charity in support of the campaign.
Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi, Director of Qatar Charity’s Programs and Community Development department, thanked University Foundation College and Hayat Plaza, as well as plastic artists, talented people, and the community, for their contributions to the ‘Educate me Let the hope continue ’ drive.
She said that Qatar Charity always launches seasonal campaigns to support its projects and comes up with creative ways to engage talented people in humanitarian work.
Nadia Muhammad Abdullah, public relations manager at University Foundation College, expressed the college’s delight in supporting the initiative, noting that the college is eager to support education as part of its societal responsibilities.
She said that the college displayed many of its students’ artworks, donating the proceeds to the campaign, demonstrating the college’s and its students’ willingness to support humanitarian work.
University Foundation College in Doha, established in 2017, is a private college accredited by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and it has signed a cooperation agreement with Qatar Charity..
Mohammed Al Hawamdeh, Hyatt Plaza Mall’s Head of Marketing, expressed his delight with the mall’s ongoing partnership with Qatar Charity in support of humanitarian and charitable work, noting that “this reflects our commitment to our responsibility towards community, and enhances cooperation between the various organizations in the State of Qatar
to serve the Qatar National Vision 2030.” He lauded Qatar Charity’s efforts to serve its beneficiaries both at home and abroad.
Saeeda Al-Badr, a Qatari plastic artist, said she took part to support the drive, which aims to support orphans and students from low-income families in and outside of Qatar.
She also expressed gratitude to Qatar Charity for its efforts and for using the plastic art to support its campaigns. Al-Badr stated that her participation in charitable campaigns is not the first and will not be the last, emphasising that contributing to the success of charitable campaigns is everyone’s duty to serve humanity.
The plastic artist Hind Muhammad thanked Qatar Charity for organizing this exhibition, expressing her delight to participate in the ‘Educate me Let the hope continue ’ drive. She said, “I participated with a painting that expresses the importance of supporting education and upholding the values of solidarity, because education is a hope for a bright future, and a fundamental pillar of the sustainable development.”
It’s worth noting that the exhibition was divided into three sections. The external section displays the campaign’s objectives, target groups, and donation options, while the inner section contains public-viewable plastic paintings. The third section is the atelier, where Hind Muhammad, a plastic artist, displayed her paintings directly to the public.
