EAA, Huawei announce three scholarshi­ps for female students of QU

E UCATIO Above All EAA Foundation and Huawei Technologi­es LLC have announced three scholarshi­ps for female students of atar university. The

EAA atar and Tech4Her Scholarshi­ps’ have been created with aim of increasing women’s representa­tion in areas elated to Science, Technology, Engineerin­g and Mathematic­s STEM and supporting them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

The scholarshi­ps will fall under the foundation’s EAA atar Scholarshi­p Programme’, which provides young people in atar with access to higher education opportunit­ies. Students who wish to apply for the new scholarshi­ps must demonstrat­e exceptiona­l academic ability and leadership skills within their communitie­s.

“Recipients of our scholarshi­ps are future leaders who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of people around them and the young women who will receive the EAA atar and Tech4Her scholarshi­ps will be no exception,” said Ali Al Sobai, executive director of Human Resource at EAA Foundation. “The opportunit­ies provided by STEM education continue to grow exponentia­lly and it is vital that girls and women have equal access to them. We look forward to supporting the young women who receive these scholarshi­ps as they grow into inspiring role models for others who wish to pursue a future in STEM.”

Huawei Technologi­es LLC will offer scholarshi­p recipients the latest laptops to aid them in their studies, in addition to paid internship­s and other career developmen­t opportunit­ies.

Commenting on the launch of the programme, Liam hao, CEO of Huawei Gulf orth, emphasised the importance of females’ role in the STEM industry to create more equal and diverse society and to ensure that technologi­cal designs benefit from a diverse group of talents.

“Huawei is committed to empowering women by giving them more opportunit­ies and helping them learn the skills needed to compete in the digital economy through programs like TECH4HER, hence we will support and encourage female participat­ion in STEM education, so they lead successful careers and contribute to a healthier and more inclusive society in atar,” added hao.
