EAA, Huawei announce three scholarships for female students of QU
Through the EAA Qatar Scholarship Programme, the foundation has provided 92 scholarships to date and has collaborated with prominent Doha-based educational institutions and universities, including Qatar Foundation, Qatar University, Stenden Qatar – University of Applied Science, University of Calgary in Qatar and College of the North Atlantic – Qatar
E UCATIO Above All EAA Foundation and Huawei Technologies LLC have announced three scholarships for female students of atar university. The
EAA atar and Tech4Her Scholarships’ have been created with aim of increasing women’s representation in areas elated to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics STEM and supporting them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The scholarships will fall under the foundation’s EAA atar Scholarship Programme’, which provides young people in atar with access to higher education opportunities. Students who wish to apply for the new scholarships must demonstrate exceptional academic ability and leadership skills within their communities.
“Recipients of our scholarships are future leaders who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of people around them and the young women who will receive the EAA atar and Tech4Her scholarships will be no exception,” said Ali Al Sobai, executive director of Human Resource at EAA Foundation. “The opportunities provided by STEM education continue to grow exponentially and it is vital that girls and women have equal access to them. We look forward to supporting the young women who receive these scholarships as they grow into inspiring role models for others who wish to pursue a future in STEM.”
Huawei Technologies LLC will offer scholarship recipients the latest laptops to aid them in their studies, in addition to paid internships and other career development opportunities.
Commenting on the launch of the programme, Liam hao, CEO of Huawei Gulf orth, emphasised the importance of females’ role in the STEM industry to create more equal and diverse society and to ensure that technological designs benefit from a diverse group of talents.
“Huawei is committed to empowering women by giving them more opportunities and helping them learn the skills needed to compete in the digital economy through programs like TECH4HER, hence we will support and encourage female participation in STEM education, so they lead successful careers and contribute to a healthier and more inclusive society in atar,” added hao.
