Doha to host King of the Court Crown Series beach v’ball finals 2021

THE 2021 season will get a finish worthy of kings and queens. From January 5th – 8th, 2022 Doha, Qatar will host the King of the Court Crown Series finals at Aspire Zone. The ultimate fight for the crowns will be contested by the combined top-10 teams from Hamburg and Utrecht, who will battle it out with 5 invitation­al teams in both genders. The total amount of prize money for the King of the Court Crowns Series 2021 will be $325,000.

Beach Volleyball in Qatar has been growing over the past years. With the four-star World Tour events that have proven to be top class. Home team Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan have really shown the world their immense potential over the last months, winning a bronze medal on the Olympics of 2021, reaching five World Tour four-star finals from which they won Cancún III. They also picked up the title in the one-star event in Doha last February.

Aspire Zone is the beating heart of the region. Known for

hosting high-end multi-sport events, Aspire Zone has an impact that drives internatio­nal progress in sports. Dutch King of the Court organizer Sportworx is very pleased to have signed a long-term deal with Aspire to host King of the Court in Doha. One added objective is to develop the sport

even more in the region and we are looking forward to part of this developmen­t.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Kuwari, Chief Marketing Officer at Aspire Zone Foundation, said: “We are proud to host “King of Court Crown Series finals 2021” for the first time in the Middle East

and especially in Aspire Zone Foundation, in collaborat­ion with Qatar Volleyball Associatio­n”.

And he added: “We are always looking for new concepts to attract new sports to the region that leave an effective impact on the community participat­ion and complement the support of a healthy lifestyle”.

The strategy we, the QVA and the State of Qatar Sports leaders, have been implementi­ng the last years have led up to the perfect infrastruc­ture, atmosphere and support we need to ensure these events come to the sports capital of the region. Also, the outstandin­g sports performanc­e by our national teams and in particular by our local heroes Cherif and Ahmed has earned Qatar a spot between the best Beach Volleyball countries at the moment.
