ACS Doha to host academic pathways seminar on May 22
ACS International School Doha will host Pathways to Tomorrow’ seminar on Sunday, May 22, to launch its high school pathway options to get students ready for university and future careers.
Open to parents of current students as well as prospective parents, the event will be held on ACS Doha’s landmark Al Kheesa campus.
The seminar will demonstrate how the academic pathway options are tailored to suit a student’s interests and abilities, while raising their academic performance and maximising their potential.
ACS Doha currently offers students the opportunity to study globally-recognised and rigorous programmes with the International Baccalaureate IB Diploma and Careerrelated Programme Advanced Placement AP courses, a US programme offering collegelevel curricula and exams to High School students, as well as the US High School Diploma.
Teachers and curriculum advisors will be available to offer advice, and will be joined by representatives from universities, who will discuss how the various pathways affect university selection process and placements, exam and academic tutoring support options with Millie Group, and BridgeU, as well as Morrisby that uses psychometric assessments and questionnaires to offer recommendations for careers and subjects.
Customised workshops, group discussion sessions, and an introduction of the schools educational and pastoral personal are all available for attendees of the event, allowing them to fully explore their child’s pathway to a brighter future.
The event also introduces the new academic and pastoral support structure for middle high school and offers parents an opportunity to meet with them and discuss the pathways and academic goals tailored to each child.
Leading the team is Jeff Holcomb, who joins ACS Doha as Middle High School Principal, from the International School of Beijing. Jeff is joined by Elhussein Elsharif, from ACS Doha’s sister school in the UK, ACS Cobham, as Assistant Principal, Pastoral.
Bringing a wealth of experience to their new roles and completing the team are Washiela Casper, M P AP Pathway Coordinator, and Sereen Saadi, DP CP Coordinator, both of whom are current ACS Doha teachers.
