Qatar’s Q1 Import Unit Value Index up 0.44%: PSA
THE Planning and Statistics Authority PSA has released the Quarterly Import Unit alue Index IM UI for the first quarter of 2022 based on 2013. The IM UI of first quarter reached to 103.2 points showing an increase of 0.44 percent when compared to fourth quarter-2021. ear-on-year, the index shows an increase by 0. 4 percent. IMU I contains 10 main groups classified based on Standard International Trade Classification.
An analysis on Q-o-Q basis of IMU I for Q12022 compared with IMUI, Q4-2021, showed that there were five main groups, where respective indices in this month have increased. These are: Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes by 3.03 percent, followed by Chemicals and related products by 2.14 percent,
Beverages and Tobacco by 1.85 percent, Food and live animals by 1.48 percent, and Machinery and transport equipment by 0.84 percent. A decrease has been recorded in: Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials by 2. percent,
Crude materials, inedible, except fuels by 1.5 percent,
Manufactured goods classified chie y by material by 0. 4 percent, Miscellaneous manufactured articles by 0.3 percent. o change is noticed in, Commodities and transactions not classified elsewhere in SITC . Graphs 2 shows the time series of quarterly IMU I and quarterly change from Q1-2021 to Q1-2022, while graph 3 shows the IMU I for the First quarter of 2021, and Fourth quarter of 2021.
A comparison of IMU I Q1-2022 with the IM UI Q1-2021 Annual Change , an increase has been recorded in the general index IMU I , by 0. 4 percent. This
-o- value increases primary due to the unite value rising in three groups namely: Machinery and transport equipment by 3. 4 percent, followed by Beverages and Tobacco by 1.85 percent, and Chemicals and related products, .E.C by
0. 8 percent. A decrease has been shown in five groups namely: Crude materials, inedible, except fuels by
8. percent, followed by Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials by
2. 1 percent, Manufactured goods classified chie y by material by 2.5 percent,
Miscellaneous manufactured articles by 0.45 percent, and Food and live animals by 0.40 percent.no change noticed in Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes , and Commodities and transactions not classified elsewhere in SITC .
