-

MI ISTER of Public Works and Transport of Eswatini,

dlaluhlaza dwandwe, affirmed that his country seeks to benefit from the Qatari experience in the field of transport and communications, especially air transport, which was the focus of the signing of a cooperation and partnership agreement between the two countries.

In an interview with Qatar ews Agency Q A , the Eswatini official praised the international level reached by the transport sector in Qatar, pointing out that his visit to Doha aims to strengthen the existing partnership between the two countries by signing an air services agreement.

He also praised the skills and experiences provided by the students who received their training in Qatar to the local airline, Eswatini Air, praising the quality of training and performance development that was acquired in Qatar, expressing his hope that the agreement would enhance cooperation between the two countries to gain more experiences in the field of aviation.

The country has benefitted from the aviation cadets training in Qatar, and these have already been deployed in the local airline to exercise the skills and expertise they received during training. The service will further strengthen skills and technology transfer from the experience of a well-established industry in Qatar.

For a while, the King Mswati III International Airport has lacked the necessary traffic to fully utilize the available infrastructure to optimal capacity, the operations of Qatar Airways from the airport would improve the level of traffic and commercial activity thus stimulating economic growth.

The partnership is envisaged to provide strategic alliances with the maiden national airline Eswatini Air , a partnership that can further be developed into other initiatives such as code sharing, passenger distribution as well as regional passenger and cargo feeding into the airlines within the region.

The development of a special economic zone SE around the King Mswati III International Airport will provide further opportunities for high value cargo transportation to various destinations.
