PSG to train at Khalifa Stadium today ahead of Riyadh Season Cup clash

PARIS Saint-Germain will arrive in Doha on Wednesday in preparatio­n for a short training camp as part of his 2023 winter tour, before travelling to the Saudi capital to face AlNasr Stars and Al Hilal in the Riyadh Season Cup, which will be held at King Fahd Internatio­nal Stadium on Thursday.

The club also announced on its website that the team will hold its first training session at the Aspire Zone on Wednesday.

The training will be open to the public, according to the statement, in preparatio­n for the Riyadh Season Cup matches against the Saudi Al Nassr and Al Hilal clubs on Thursday at King Fahd Internatio­nal Stadium.

The club emphasised that this visit will allow PSG players to meet their supporters and fans from Qatar, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The club will also take part in a variety of activities organized by the club’s Qatari partners.

According to the statement, more than 15,000 tickets for this exclusive event are on sale on Monday on the Q-Ticket platform.

It also stated that the event is open to 5,000 PSG Academy members, both children and parents, as well as 300 partners.

Ahead of the match, Qatari

referee Abdul Rahman AlJassim will be in charge of the match and assisted by Talib Salem Al Marri (first assistant) and Saud Ahmed Saud (Second assistant) and Khamis Muhammad Al Marri (video referee).

The Al Nasr and Al Hilal Stars team, led by Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo, consists of 22 players, 14 of them are World Cup stars.

The squad includes several players who have made appearance­s in World Cup finals, whether in the most recent or previous editions.

The upcoming match is the first direct confrontat­ion between the Argentine Lionel Messi, who leads the attack of the Parisian team just weeks after winning the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with his country, and the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved after their last meeting in a UEFA Champions League match in which Juventus defeated Barcelona 3-0 in 2020.
