India’s 74th R-Day marked by OIS with patriotic fervour

LIVE Internatio­nal School IS celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day with all fervour on January 2 , with the participat­ion of IS management, staff and students.

The event commenced with the unfurling of the Indian National Flag simultaneo­usly on the Thumama mm Salal and Khartityat­h campuses at 8:30 am. It was followed by the singing of the Indian National Anthem.

n the occasion, students staged an enthrallin­g dance performanc­e expressing the Joy of freedom’. The programme also included Hindi speeches by Faizan Ahmad of rade V and Akshita Singh of grade VII. The patriotic songs sung by teachers evoked emotions of pride, respect and love for their country in students as well as teachers.

Sayed asir of grade VIII and Mohammed Walid of grade I delivered speeches in English, highlighti­ng the importance of the Constituti­on of India and recalling the martyrs and legends who devoted their lives to the nation.

They urged all present to take a pledge to maintain peace and harmony in the great nation and swear never to forget the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the school choir sang patriotic songs in Hindi and Malayalam. The chairman, congratula­ted everyone and motivated all present to preserve the golden heritage of India and work hard to make it better.

Juttas Paul shared that in today’s world, with so many challenges it is vital for the students to envision future with right knowledge and values so that they stay grounded and balanced in every situation.
