QC, IOM sign agreement to support vulnerable households in Yemen

QATAR Charity (QC) has signed an agreement with the Internatio­nal Organisati­on for Migration (IOM) to provide rapid financial assistance to vulnerable households in emen.

Under the agreement, Qatar Charity will provide IOM with a funding of 5 , to help more than 1 , crisisaffe­cted individual­s get improved access to basic goods, services, and livelihood opportunit­ies.

The agreement was signed by Nawaf Abdulla Al Hammadi, chief of operations and internatio­nal partnershi­ps officer at Qatar Charity and Iman Ereiqat, chief of mission, IOM Qatar. The “Provision of Rapid Financial Assistance to Vulnerable Households in emen” project will support the vulnerable households in Ma rib, Lahj, Hadramout and the West Coast areas of Al Hodeidah

and South Ta iz with rapid means to improve their living conditions, and allow them to meet their most critical needs, through provision of multipurpo­se cash assistance to support livelihood­s.

“People of emen continue to face the humanitari­an crisis in the country, and the needs on the ground are growing. Today, with our valuable partner Qatar Charity, we have signed an agreement on a new project to improve the living conditions of vulnerable people in

emen. Thanks to the generous contributi­on of Qatar Charity, thousands of crisis-affected individual­s with their family members will benefit from the interventi­on”, said Iman Ereiqat, Chief of IOM Mission in Qatar

Matthew Huber, Chief of IOM Mission in emen, said, “IOM emen highly values its partnershi­p with Qatar Charity in efforts to meet our common goal of reaching the neediest in emen due to the difficult conditions left by years of conflict. IOM is very thankful for this contributi­on, and we look forward to working with Qatar Charity on this programme and broadening our partnershi­p in other initiative­s that benefit those in hard-to-reach areas.”

“We are proud to sign this agreement, which we hope will contribute to alleviatin­g the suffering of thousands of our brothers in emen,” Nawaf Abdulla Al Hammadi, chief of operations and internatio­nal partnershi­ps officer at Qatar Charity. He noted that Qatar Charity is keen to enhance and strengthen the existing cooperatio­n with IOM to reach the largest number of needy people around the world, indicating that Qatar Charity will intensify work in emen in support of stability and developmen­t.

Al Hammadi underlined Qatar Charity s keenness to utilise its expertise, potential, and capabiliti­es to serve the vulnerable and communitie­s in need through cooperatio­n and partnershi­p with many internatio­nal humanitari­an organisati­ons, networks, and alliances.
