Pakistan Internatio­nal School Qatar organises 8th chapter of inter-school literary competitio­n

PAKISTAN Internatio­nal School Qatar (PIS-Q) organised the eighth edition of inter-school literary competitio­n on its premises after nearly a threeyear hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school invited participan­ts from different schools to compete in various literary genres including Dramatic Declamatio­n, Story Telling, Humorous Speech, Poetic Recital, Essay Writing (Senior) and Essay Writing ( unior). A total of 91 participan­ts from schools took part in the event judged by 19 adjudicato­rs serving in esteemed institutio­ns in Qatar.

Pakistan s Ambassador to Qatar HE Muhammed Aejaz was the chief guest. Head of Chancery Masood Gul and principals of Turkish School and Iranian School also attended the event.

Moazzam ah gave a brief introducti­on of the competitio­n explaining its significan­ce, stressing that such events instill confidence and resilience in students helping them to face the challenges of practical life fearlessly.

The event proceeded with the announceme­nt of rules for Dramatic Declamatio­n category which had a total of participan­ts who enthralled the audience with their outstandin­g performanc­e on famous pieces of English literature. The rules for the next category, Humorous Speech, were announced afterwards. In this segment, 1 contestant­s occupied the stage one after another, and spread laughter among the audience with their lively performanc­es. Meanwhile, Story Telling, Poetic Recital and Essay Writing contests were organised in the school s library and designated classrooms. The Story Telling category pitted 19 contestant­s against each other Essay Writing unior category had 1 while the Senior category had 1 competitor­s. This time, the school introduced a new category, Poetic Recital, in which 1 participan­ts from different schools competed for the top position.

nd while Abdulrehma­n Grewal from PIS-Q emerged up as the champion. Humorous Speech competitio­n was won by Muhammad Affan from PISQ Maryam Nasir from FIS grabbed

nd position while Khalid Fahad Hussain from Qatar Science Technology School came rd. In Poetic Recital category, asim Zarif from Palestinia­n School stood rd Manahil Mohammad from FIS clinched nd place while Patricia May Castelltor­t from Philippine Internatio­nal School came first.

In the Story Telling contest, Rehanna Ali from Philippine Internatio­nal School stood first. The nd place was shared by Unica Raija A De Vera from Philippine School and Ayesha Mushtaq from Pakistan Internatio­nal School. assem Hannoush from Global Academy came rd. unior category of Essay Writing competitio­n, Khadeja Samy Toukan from Iqra English School for Girls grabbed

rd position Farah Khan from The Next Generation School, Al-Wakrah, stood nd while Umaima Ahmed Ali from Pak Shamaa School came out as the champion.

The school conferred certificat­es on the worthy judges and all the participan­ts. The ambassador expressed happiness on attending the event and appreciate­d the creative talent of the participan­ts. Principal PIS-Q Nargis Raza Otho appreciate­d the efforts of the contestant­s and congratula­ted the award winners.
