3rd edition of Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF 2023) from today
Spectacular 11-day festival will run from February 1-11 at Katara Beach
UNDER the generous patronage of His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the 3rd Edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival’s (KIAHF 2023) will gallop into action at the spectacular Katara waterfront on Wednesday at 3 pm.
The distinct Festival is organized by the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, in cooperation with Qatar Equestrian Federation and Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, will be held over 11 days from February 1-11, 2023.

Already established as one of the most sought after Horse Festival in the region and the world, KIAHF includes the Arabian Peninsula Horse Show (February 1-4), the Arabian Horse Auction (February 6), and the prestigious Title Show (February 8-11).
KIAHF 2023 carries a total prize-money of QR 1 ,083,500 and has the participation of 18 countries including from Arab region, Europe and USA.
The purebred Arabians showcased at KIAHF are admired by passionate connoisseurs, horse-owners and breeders, and horse lovers. KIAHF is graced by several dignitaries.
The picturesque venue with Bedouin-style canopies by the sea provides at Katara Esplanade will see the best of Arabian purebreds being displayed over the next eleven days.
The opening day will see the start of the Arabian Peninsula Horse Championship for
the qualifying categories for Fillies in four categories (Yearling Fillies - Class 1A 1B and Junior Fillies – Class 2A 2B) from 3.30 pm onwards.
Thursday and Friday will see six classes and their award ceremonies while Saturday will see The Arabian Peninsula Show Championships for all categories. There will also be a lighting show and a poetry contest.
As many as 481 finest purebred Arabian horses from 18 countries are participating in KIAHF 2023 while The Auction will see 23 of the finest purebreds.
The prestigious KIAHF 2023 Title Show has a prize money of QR 13,990,000. This is besides the other in-kind prizes.
KIAHF 2023 Arabian Peninsula Horse Show has a total prize of QAR 3,093,500 and also has plenty of other in-kind prizes for various categories.
There will also be special prizes for The Legend’ (Senior category) QR 3,000,000 and a Special Award’ for the horse which has won all categories since being a Yearling of QR 2,000,000.

Events alongside KIAHF 2023 will also include 6 artistic workshops – horse work handicrafts, cutting and pasting workshops, sewing puppet horses, papier-mache and
workshop of nails and thread.
The audience will also be on a date with a live performance of a horse-sized stained glass artwork by natural artist Tarek Marrakesh.
A big oral display of roses will be re ected in the presence of 15 ower shops during the Festival.
The Festival will also see a number of other exhibitions including Peter Upton’s paintings, The Tale of the Arabian Horse, exhibitions by artist Ali Al-Mimar and sculpture artist Brazilian Roberto Clazzini, and the “Collectibles” exhibition.
The Sheikh Faisal Museum Bin Qasim and Qatar National Library, and the Postage Stamp Museum at Katara will also present a distinguished collection of international stamps on horses.
Eight artists will present a graffiti mural measuring 5 by 1 meter, consisting of two parts, one of which is wooden and the other mirror so that the audience gets to follow the drawings live.
