Embassy celebrates Haitian revolutionary Louverture’s birth anniversary & Flag Day
Ambassador of Haiti to Qatar His Excellency François Guillaume II hosted a special event at the embassy to commemorate the birth anniversary of the iconic Haitian revolutionary Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Flag Day on Saturday.
The occasion attended by esteemed guests, including ambassadors and heads of mission accredited to Qatar was marked with a movie screening, followed by a Haitian cooking show and tasting.
The ambassador said, “Toussaint Louverture, born on May 20th, is widely recognised as a key figure in Haiti’s fight for independence and the abolition of slavery. As a leader of the Haitian Revolution, he played a crucial role in shaping the country’s history and inspiring future generations.”
