BPS hosts investitur­e ceremony for new session student leaders

BIRLA Public School (BPS) Doha Qatar recently held investitur­e ceremony for BPS student leaders for the 202324 academic year at Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium.

The ceremony was organised to inspire, encourage, invest and repose confidence in the young and dynamic office bearers.

Oath Swearing Ceremony was solemnised in the presence of Chairman Gope Shahani, Director C V Rappai, Management Representa­tive Chindhu Antony, Academic Director Principal Harish Sanduja, Head of Non-Academics Vinod Kumar, vice principals, head masters and heads of various department­s.

The parents of the office bearers were also invited to witness the special occasion.

The event commenced with the prayer, followed by the welcome speech.

The academic director principal addressed the young leaders of Birla and emphasised the importance of integrity and honesty on the need of developing the art of language to master emotions.

Thereafter, he led the swearing in ceremony of the elected members and appointed Falah Mohammed and Mahika Rao as the Head Boy and Head Girl; Dhairya Kamalkumar Nariani and Sai Naishika Bollikonda as the Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl; and administer­ed the oath.

The principal also administer­ed the oath to the student leaders of the Prefectori­al Board, School Sports Captain, House Masters and Mistresses, House Captains and Vice Captains, Assistant Prefects and Student Council members. The head boy and the head girl addressed the elected prefectori­al board members.

The toppers who bagged the first two positions of the three streams of Grade XI were also honoured with the prestigiou­s Aditya Birla Memorial Award and Sarla Birla Memorial Award. The recipients were: Mahika Rao, Aarish Arvind from Science Stream, Sadhika Sajitkumar, Mohammed Yasin Rafeeque from Commerce Stream and Subhana Salim, Bhoomi Chouhan, Diya Dileep from Humanities Stream.

The award consisted of certificat­es and a cash prize of QR3,000 each, for outstandin­g academic performanc­e in the 2022-23 academic year. On behalf of the management, C V Rappai congratula­ted, inspired and blessed the budding leaders.

The school choir entertaine­d the gathering with a musical rendition to add to the festive ambience.

The MCs Stanley M Eapen, Remya Vinod and Soniya Subhash Chander anchored the function skillfully and guided everyone through the ceremony. Jai Adithya Ramesh and Tarika Gorle, the speakers of the student council, concluded the function with the vote of thanks.
