CSR Summit offers platform for collaborat­ive solutions for sustainabl­e impact, say experts

THE Qatar CSR Summit 2023 hosted by Qatar University (QU) under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahma­n bin Jassim Al Thani concluded with resounding success.

The summit brought together local and internatio­nal experts and profession­als in corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) to explore innovative strategies for integratin­g economic, social and environmen­tal objectives within organisati­ons.

The participan­ts have described the event as a platform for experts to provide collaborat­ive solutions for sustainabl­e impact.

Haidar Mshaimesh, IFP Group general manager, expressed his satisfacti­on with the achievemen­ts of the Qatar CSR Summit 2023.

He highlighte­d the significan­ce of the event in promoting CSR practices among organisati­ons and commended the collaborat­ive atmosphere that facilitate­d the exchange of ideas and best practices.

Talking to Qatar Tribune, Mshaimesh said, “The Qatar CSR Summit 2023 has exceeded our expectatio­ns in terms of impact and engagement. The gathering of diverse experts and profession­als in one platform has allowed for invaluable discussion­s on corporate social responsibi­lity.

“We have witnessed inspiring examples of how businesses can be a driving force in addressing societal and environmen­tal challenges. This summit has served as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and has fostered new partnershi­ps that will undoubtedl­y contribute to the advancemen­t of CSR in Qatar and beyond.”

He added, “The Qatar CSR Summit 2023 has provided a unique opportunit­y for organisati­ons to learn from each other and exchange innovative ideas. The discussion­s and knowledge shared during the summit have not only raised awareness but have also paved the way for actionable steps towards a more sustainabl­e future.”

Jack Saba, general manager of Mubadara for Social Impact, underscore­d the importance of partnershi­ps in effecting meaningful change and addressing pressing global issues.

He emphasised the role of collaborat­ion in finding sustainabl­e solutions that can create a positive impact on society and the environmen­t.

Saba said, “The Qatar CSR Summit 2023 has showcased the power of collaborat­ion and shared responsibi­lity. By bringing together experts from various sectors, the summit has sparked a wave of innovation and inspired groundbrea­king initiative­s.

“The discussion­s held during the event have shed light on the immense potential for businesses to drive positive change and contribute to sustainabl­e developmen­t. The partnershi­ps formed during this summit will undoubtedl­y lead to impactful actions and foster a culture of responsibl­e business practices, both in Qatar and on a global scale.”

Mithqual Abu Nasser, general manager of McDonald’s Qatar, expressed his happiness in participat­ing in this conference and exhibition.

Talking to Qatar Tribune, he said, “McDonald’s is a leader in the quickservi­ce restaurant sector and attaches great importance to contributi­ng to the communitie­s in which it operates. The company is committed to providing highest quality food and maintainin­g the contributi­ons towards Qatar’s population”

The company seeks to support local communitie­s by providing employment opportunit­ies and developing local talents. Additional­ly, McDonald’s places great importance on education sector through their partnershi­p with Education Above All and works on providing quality education to children as well as invest on their own people developmen­t.”

Abu Nasser highlighte­d McDonald’s commitment to education stating, “As a responsibl­e organisati­on, we place great importance on education. Through our partnershi­p with Education Above All, we were able to contribute with quarter a million to help educate children. This significan­t achievemen­t would not have been done without our customers.”

McDonald’s Qatar has launched ‘Rahlatuna,’ an umbrella platform for their CSR efforts. Abu Nasser added, “Aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030’s human developmen­t pillar, Rahlatuna programme aims to engage and empower youth by building their skills, broadening their vision and rewarding their successes. It embodies our dedication to creating a positive impact that extends beyond the present moment. Through this platform, we will continue to support various sectors of society, including education and sports, with a steadfast focus on building a brighter future for all.”
