QIIB awarded PCI-DSS cyber certificat­ion for 8th consecutiv­e year

FOR the eighth consecutiv­e year, QIIB has been awarded the highest certificat­ion in cyber security and protection of bank cards data- Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)- granted by SISA company to banking institutio­ns with the best security standards and protection for their customers’ informatio­n.

QIIB Chief Risk Officer Mohammad Jamil Ahmad Hamad was handed over the certificat­e by SISA Vice President Ramakrishn­an Balagopal during a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarte­rs at the Grand Hamad Street.

On this occasion, Hamad said, “QIIB’s award of the PCIDSS certificat­ion for the eighth consecutiv­e year reflects our continuous investment in cybersecur­ity solutions and adoption of the best-known technology in the banking sector. We are committed to achieving global standards in the field of cyber security in terms of software, infrastruc­ture, training, and attraction of qualified experts.”

He said, “QIIB’s success in achieving the required standards for obtaining this certificat­ion is translated in the huge progress made by the bank in the field of digital transforma­tion, as it continues to invest in its digital solutions in parallel with its increased investment in security and protection solutions for all its operations and customers’ informatio­n, and it reflects the bank’s investment in combating cybercrime, hacking and Cyber fraud.”

Hamad also stressed that QIIB is working to strengthen cooperatio­n with the relevant institutio­ns and authoritie­s to protect customers’ data in all its forms, and it will continue to rely on the best solutions adopted in the global market to maintain its prestigiou­s position in the field of informatio­n security.

The Chief Risk Officer at QIIB expressed his thanks and appreciati­on to SISA for awarding QIIB the PCI-DSS certificat­ion, after its in-depth review of the exerted efforts and the distinguis­hed level achieved by the bank in the field of informatio­n security.

On his part, Balagopal said, “We congratula­te QIIB on maintainin­g this outstandin­g level of customer data protection and on earning a PCI-DSS certificat­ion, which is one of the most important internatio­nally-recognised standards in data security. We are confident that the bank will remain a leader in cyber security solutions given its long-term investment in technology dedicated for this purpose and its keenness to protect the data of its customers in the best possible way.”

It is noteworthy that QIIB has succeeded in establishi­ng an advanced technologi­cal infrastruc­ture and various alternativ­e channels to enhance its banking services taking it to a new level, which contribute­d in strengthen­ing its role in the banking market and meeting the needs of customers in accordance with the best internatio­nal standards.
