QNL-HMC seminar promotes awareness of mental health
ANOTHER step towards breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues and promoting an open dialogue about mental health and wellbeing was taken at a public event held by Qatar National Library in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)’s Mental Health Service, the main provider of specialised mental health care and treatment in Qatar.
The enlightening and interactive event was held to mark the Mental Health Awareness Month and featured a diverse array of engaging elements including short, informative presentations and multiple breakout sessions led by experts. HMC psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, pharmacologists, and other specialists shared their perspectives and strategies for fostering positive change.
The symposium welcomed the general public interested in expanding their understanding of mental health topics, equipping them with insights to respond compassionately when support is needed. It also served as a dynamic platform, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for the exchange of knowledge and personal experience with professionals from various disciplines.
Throughout the event, participants had multiple opportunities to connect with the experts, emphasising the Library’s commitment to offering an engaging and supportive space. It also served as a step toward breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues and promoting an open dialogue about mental health and well-being.
By collaborating with local partners such as HMC’s Mental Health Service, Qatar National Library ensures that its services are tailored to meet the needs of all members of the community.
