Engineers Australia, Invest and Trade WA host Thought Leaders Forum

ENGINEERS Australia Qatar Chapter, in collaborat­ion with Western Australia Trade and Invest (Invest and Trade WA), organised a Thought Leaders Forum on the Australian Embassy premises on May 15. The event provided an excellent opportunit­y for attendees to gain insights into the latest trends and opportunit­ies for investors, migrants, and students.

The forum was addressed by the Australian Ambassador to Qatar HE Jonathan Muir, Aziz Saba of Invest and Trade WA, and President of Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter Tamer Naguib. The event was brilliantl­y hosted by the master of ceremony Nazia Ziauddin.

Engineers Australia is playing a pivotal role in bringing profession­al engineers and industry on one platform to enhance collaborat­ion and amplify the cause of the profession in general and Australian companies in particular, said the Australian envoy to Qatar.

The panel discussion was moderated by Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter Deputy President, Asif Rahmany, and included esteemed panelists comprising Aziz Saba (Invest and Trade WA), Prof. John Evans and Prof. Pon Selvan (Curtin University), Omid Honari (Navitas), Karan Joshi (Aussizz Group), Diana Monis (Austrade), and Astley Pung (Engineers Australia).

The panel discussion covered a wide range of topics ranging from investment opportunit­ies in Australia in general and Western Australia in particular, current trends in migration, path for skilled migration, and the newly launched Global Talent visa programme for highly talented immigrants, which allows people over the age of 45 years.
