QATAR Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has celebrated the graduation of the eighth batch of its national programme (Kawader Malia), in the presence of Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, along with officials and CEOs of a number of banks and financial institutions in Qatar.

As many as 72 male and female students graduated in this batch bringing the total number of participants in the programme to 249, since its establishment in 2013.

Chairman of QFBA Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa said in a speech that the graduates of the 8th batch have successfully completed all the program requirements, and became qualified and ready to continue their successful career paths. He pointed out that the State of Qatar has paid great attention to supporting the private sector and enhancing its competitiveness, and in this context has directed towards supporting the localization of jobs in it by adopting a series of initiatives to support localization strategies, which aim to empower the Qatari citizens, develop their capabilities and provide them with the knowledge, skills and experience that qualify them to assume leadership positions in the future.

The National Programme “Kawader Malia” is one of the most important initiatives of QFBA that aim to support the state’s nationalization efforts, specifically in the areas of insurance and financial services, he said adding that the program has already succeeded in achieving its desired objectives over the course of its previous sessions, after a number of graduates joined prestigious financial services institutions in the country, and were able to prove their worth and distinction in the positions they occupied.

The list of training institutions that were cooperated with during the practical training period of the programme featured 18 local institutions, in addition to seven prestigious international institutions that provided training services to students enrolled in the programme.

Established in 2013, Kawader Malia Programme is a three-month long development program designed for Qatari fresh graduates, within the spectrum of the financial industry. The programme equips fresh graduates with the necessary skills, competencies, practical and professional knowledge, bridging the performance gap between academic and professional practices.
