SEASHORE Group, which is one of the fastest growing and the largest multifaceted business groups in Qatar, is taking part in the Project Qatar 2023 exhibition with many new and innovative products on display.

Talking to Qatar Tribune about the company’s participation in the ongoing Project Qatar exhibition, Seashore Group Administrator and Business Development Manager Abiman Navaneethakrishnan said, “Let me talk about our company first. Headquartered in the northeastern side of Qatar in Al Khor, 50 km from the capital city of Doha, Seashore Group was founded in 1989 with modest assets and three employees at the time. The honorary owner and chairman is Mr. Saeed Salem A Mohannadi, a Qatari businessman and the managing director is Mr. Mohamed Ali an Indian entrepreneur.”

Starting from humble beginnings, he said, “Today the Seashore Group’s business has paved the way for many Qatari businesses in the nation. We started with servicing of fishing boats. Later on, with the development of Ras Laffan Port, we started our operation with trading, risk management, and others. Today we have around 18 companies. We have more than 6000 people working for us. We have over more than 1,500 types of equipment.”

“One of our major serviceoriented divisions is waste management. We are proud to say that we have a big market share in this segment. Apart from this one of the value additions for risk management, very soon we are coming up with a medical waste solution where one can learn the lesson of biomedical innovation. That is coming in another couple of months. With sheer dedication, hard work, and perseverance the Seashore Group has managed to grow exponentially in the past decades,” he said.

“Apart from that, we have other divisions like steel, aluminum, pipes and tubes manufacturing, automobiles division, and others. So, each division complements each other,” he said.

Over the past so many years, he said, “We have been working with wisdom and knowledge which has led to us to the road to success. We feel proud of the fact that the people of Qatar have been very warm to us as we have developed a strong, strategic, and historic partnership with our valuable clients here.

“With our joint efforts to work in a sustainable manner with the support of Qatar National Vision’s;

four pillars of human, social, economic, and environmental development. Seashore has reached a remarkable place in the industry and we are committed to upholding our working principles and ethics in the future as well.”

“We at Seashore believe in quality as all our work procedures are designed to follow sophisticated and internationally approved quality testing methods for analyzing the mechanical parameters like Tensile strength,

Bend test, Charpy impact test, and chemical parameters like carbon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus, etc. Being committed to excellence, we come to deliver high-quality products to our customers as customer satisfaction is our top priority,” he said.

For us, he said, “Being eco-friendly matters the most and that’s why all our operations strongly adhere to the rules and regulations that are put forth by the Ministry of Environment in the Country. We are proud to say that Seashore is ISO and safety management) certified company.” Navaneethakrishnan said that Seashore Group has been participating in the Project Qatar exhibition for the last so many editions.

He said, “This time we are participating with some of the unique products. One of our key products this year is the EPRs system, which is emergency preparedness system. Except for Qatar, it is manufactured in only three other countries. This kind of product is not manufactured anywhere in the Middle East. So, what is the use of this one and why is it so unique.

“Is basically used basically below the sea. What it does in Qatar where you have 1,000 kilometres of pipeline, where our main economy is the gas pipelines. For that repair that pipe you need to have some sort of equipment to go inside the plate and repair. So earlier QatarEnergy used to rent it from outside like European countries which was so expensive, and that’s why they thought why can’t we make it? That is how Seashore got this project.”

He said, “It is a very specialised project. Each and all materials are brought from different parts of the world. For example, the design was made by one of our partners from Australia. Hydraulics were from South Africa. Steel is from the UK so almost eight to nine countries are involved in this material sourcing. It has been successfully handed over to QatarEnergy.”

Asked about the response of visitors at the exhibition, Navaneethakrishnan said, “The response from visitors so far has exceeded our expectations. There are lots of footfalls at our pavilion. We have also received a number of inquiries from prospective clients.”
