QU, Google Cloud join hands to drive digital transforma­tion

QATAR University (QU) has announced a collaborat­ion with Google Cloud aimed at accelerati­ng the digital transforma­tion of Qatar University, as part of the framework agreement with the Ministry of Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology (MCIT).

As one of the leading universiti­es in the Middle East, Qatar University is committed to providing its students and faculty with innovative technology solutions that enhance learning, research, and administra­tive processes, and the collaborat­ions enable the university to deliver on this commitment.

Under the collaborat­ion, Google Cloud will work closely with QU to provide cutting-edge cloud technology solutions that will enable the university to enhance its digital capabiliti­es and improve its services to students and faculty. The collaborat­ion will help QU improve data analytics, streamline operations, and optimise resources, ultimately providing an enhanced experience for all.

“Digital transforma­tion is an important part of Qatar University’s strategy, and a vital element for continued innovation” said Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, president of Qatar University. He added: “Our aim is to build digital competency, digitalisa­tion of QU operations and sectors and implement a smart campus infrastruc­ture. All talents in QU will make use of this partnershi­p to implement their ideas and help translate them using this platform.”

Also, QU will leverage the newly opened Google Cloud region in Doha to securely store critical business data and leverage its scalabilit­y in its operations.
