Electronic education, AI became part of strategic planning, says minister
MINISTER of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi has said that the development of elearning environment systems and artificial intelligence (AI), and promoting the digital transformation of the educational environment, has become an integral part of any educational strategic plan in Qatar.
She praised the state’s keenness on integrating technology into the various teaching and learning processes, to prepare the learners to face all the requirements of modern practical life.
Addressing the 13th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and hosted by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Morocco, she explained that the tremendous and successive developments of information and communication technology and artificial intelligence have led to economic, educational and cultural changes in all fields, especially after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister emphasized the importance of the role of countries in ensuring that all efforts are harnessed to translate their commitments into measures towards shaping the future of education. She stressed the need to exert all available means to support and advocate the continuation of the global movement to achieve the desired education transformation. She explained that the State of Qatar was chosen among five countries to lead the education transformation at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
On the Margins of the conference, she met with Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Chakib Benmoussa.
They discussed aspects of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the field of education, and ways to support and enhance it.
