Vibrant ‘Happy People Doha Business Club WhatsApp Group’ to mark 5th anniversar­y

Ann Williams, the president of the Swedish Community in Qatar, initiated the establishm­ent of a WhatsApp group under the name ‘Happy People Doha’ in 2019, marking its fifth anniversar­y this month.

Qatar Tribune interviewe­d Ann Williams, delving into the journey of this vibrant business community network social forum. Formerly, the business developmen­t director for a media company in Qatar, she founded the Happy People Doha WhatsApp group to bring together individual­s she met at networking events.

She said that the group swiftly grew, prompting the members of the monthly gatherings in various hotels across Doha. What began with 30-40 members has now expanded to a thriving community of 250 individual­s from 40 nationalit­ies.

She said the group serves as a valuable hub for sharing upcoming events, exchanging experience­s, and facilitati­ng referrals and introducti­ons among members. Comprising esteemed members in senior positions across diverse sectors, including CEOs, directors, founders, and diplomats, the community thrives on the rich tapestry of talents within Qatar’s industries.

Talking about the journey of the club so far, she said the monthly gatherings foster meaningful connection­s and collaborat­ions,

“As the Happy People Doha Business Club approaches, its half decade milestone on February 18, 2024, it reflects on the dynamic synergy that has flourished on WhatsApp platform, uniting profession­als from various industries.”
