Al Rayyan Club’s youth wing holds workshop on ‘Basics of Cybersecurity’
THE youth wing of Al Rayyan Club organised a workshop ‘Basics of Cybersecurity’ as part of its general activities in cooperation with Canadian Centre for Computing Research, Qatar University, under the supervision of the Public Security Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, especially the category for the workshop for 16 to 25 years old.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Ratib Al Jabbar in the presence of Faisal Al Hammadi, head of the youth wing at Al Rayyan Club. The concept of cybersecurity was discussed during the workshop which is considered as a field that aims to protect digital systems, networks, software, and data from electronic attacks and cyber threats. This field includes implementing procedures and policies that aim to achieve digital safety and security for individuals, companies, and governments.
Al Hammadi stressed on the importance of this workshop because it is cyber security with our modern increasing reliance on data in our daily lives, as the personal data is sensitive to the risks of hacking, electronic espionage, and fraud, and cyber attacks can have catastrophic effects on people and entities, including impressive data, disrupting operations, and causing financial and moral damage.
