Tottenham frustrated by draw at West Ham

- PA MEDIA/DPA

TOTTENHAM Hotspur’s pursuit of a Champions League place was dented after a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

Brennan Johnson tapped in Timo Werner’s cross from close range to put Spurs ahead inside five minutes only for Kurt Zouma to level in the 19th minute with a header from Jarrod Bowen’s corner.

Spurs are now two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, who head to champions Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Nottingham Forest gave their survival hopes a boost by beating Fulham 3-1 at the City Ground - their first win in six top-flight matches.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Chris Wood, with his eighth goal in nine league games, doubled their advantage 10 minutes later.

Not even a triple Fulham substitution in the 33rd minute could prevent Morgan GibbsWhite from adding a third in

first-half stoppage time.

Tosin Adarabioyo pulled a goal back for Fulham four minutes into the second half but Forest edged three points clear of third-bottom Luton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin ended his goal drought with an 88th-minute penalty as Everton

snatched a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Alexander Isak struck for the Magpies after 15 minutes, claiming his 19th goal of the season, before missing a glorious chance to add a second.

Everton capitalised by salvaging a point as Calvert-Lewin converted from the spot after Ashley Young was fouled by Paul Dummett - the striker’s first goal in 24 games dating back to October.

The Toffees moved four points above the relegation zone despite extending their winless league run to 13 matches.

Burnley’s bid to avoid relegation was dealt a blow after being held 1-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor.

Jacob Bruun Larsen’s 37thminute strike was cancelled out by Rayan Ait-Nouri just before half-time.
