Finally, after a long wait

The wait which is fed by hope is not a real wait. We all are happy with the decision of the Council of Ministers to set up a Council for Family Affairs. This has been a long-awaited decision. Still there are many questions which remain unanswered. There are sincere wishes that the work of the council will be given to women experts who have the required experience and knowledge to deal with family issues. This is because these women are close to these issues related to women and what is required to modernize the laws about them. We all hope that this council will prove to be a qualitative transformation in dealing with family affairs on the needs of which we all agree. But many related issues are a burden for society and its development. Family issues, which include women-related issues, need to have a modern vision which matches the Saudi Vision 2030.
