Violating traffic laws

This is with reference to the report “A death an hour on Kingdom’s roads” ( July 29). It is a matter of great concern and there is a need to take all possible measures to check the situation.

Truth be told, the traffic authorities cannot be entirely blamed for this situation. The traffic department in any city across the world is expected to install cameras, speed- monitoring devices, traffic lights at important junctions and other necessary signs. The Saudi traffic department has also taken all these measures. The rest depends on motorists. Saher cameras were installed across the Kingdom to check traffic violations and the resulting road accidents. Unfortunately, people find ways to hoodwink the authorities and exploit loopholes.
