KSYC in deal to support scholarship students in US
RIYADH: The King Salman Youth Center (KSYC) and the Saudi cultural mission in the United States recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting Saudi scholarship students.
Cultural Attaché Mohammed Al-Eisa and KSYC Executive Director Hani Al-Miqbil signed the deal, the Saudi Press Agency said.
The deal is also intended to establish a regulatory umbrella between the two parties to serve Saudi students in the US and conduct joint studies, surveys and research on youth.
Al-Miqbil said the MoU comes as part of efforts of the KSYC and its strategy to realize Saudi Vision 2030, the major part of which depends on the younger generation that will build a dynamic community, a thriving economy and an ambitious nation.
The deal represents a key element to help Saudi youngsters achieve higher goals. The partnership with the cultural mission in the US has special importance as it is considered the biggest incubator for Saudi scholarship students, he said.
Al- Eisa said the MoU comes in the context of the cultural mission’s efforts to achieve the Kingdom’s objectives of progress and development. He said the mission adopts a renewable strategic plan every year and puts innovation and initiatives at the top of its priorities in order to promote services provided to scholarship students.
This particular memo comes at an opportune time where the students not only concentrate on academic studies, but their area of concern has expanded to cover symposia and functions under the umbrella of clubs, added Al- Eissa.
